Second in the "Balloon" series.
The artist envisioned using a root she had saved, along with fake birds, but was unsure how they would work with the papier-mâché balloon. The tree root only made sense going through the balloon's head. As the piece evolved, she don't always know how things would fit together or what items she'd need. She did not plan on having a nest on the head or three-dimensional leaves made of modeling paste. It's rewarding when things turn out better than expected.
