"Escaping my Cage" is a hanging sculpture. As the artist worked to discover her authenticity, she began to see the expectations placed upon her and realized they had confined her in a 'box' and she was expected to remain in that box. When she tried to climb out of that 'box,' it was not well received. This piece is her interpretation of the expectations imposed on us as humans and how she felt when escaping. She hopes this piece can help someone going through something similar.
